Success! Disaster!

Well, everything regarding the art commission is done.  The contract has been signed, the deposit has been paid and everything is go.  I'll be drawing all this week.  Yay for things to keep me occupied while I wait for the next brilliant story idea to come along!

Now I just need to go out and buy some fixative and I should be well on my way.  Three and a half of the six drawings are already done.

Progress with The Summer Bird is painfully slow.  I'm struggling to come up with a proper blurb for the book and so I'm making that my project for today.  There must be a blurb up on the site and to the cover artist by the end of today.  No excuses!

Martial Arts training has ground to a shattering, extremely painful halt.  Last night, while training our kicks, I held the kicking shield up for my partner to thow a high round house.  She hit.  Not really all that hard.  Nevertheless, the muscles in the back of my right arm - my tricepts - felt like someone had grabbed at both ends and pulled really hard, and really fast.  Honestly, it felt like a massive tear.  Like... I could feel individual fibres ripping kind of tear.

My arm ceased to function for almost a minute, then movement came again without pain.

There is no bruising there as of this morning, so I'm not sure that it was a tear.  My arm aches a little worse than it usually does, but my limited range of motion has not been affected.

I haven't had full range of motion with my right arm for a while.  I had hoped that the break over Christmas would have helped, but it seems not.  So, today, instead of going to training tonight like I usually do, I'm going home to put a hot compress on my arm and sulk.  I'm good at sulking.

Sigh.  I hate missing training.

Let's not end on a downer.  Yay writing and drawing!  There.  That's happier.  Right, I'm off to try and figure out some sort of blurb for The Summer Bird.  Wish me luck!

Thanks! To be honest, I'm finding it rather frustrating. It's not usually a style I draw in and it's proving to be rather tricky!
